We are an entrepreneurial partner.

We work with you to apply our fully integrated processes to discover, develop, and deliver highly desirable, technically feasible and commercially viable outcomes.

End-to-End Product Development

At IDE Group, we believe that the journey from concept to market-ready product is guided by a clear understanding of the problem and a meticulous translation of it into a viable solution. Our process begins with a holistic deep dive into the critical uncertainties surrounding the technology and commercialisation aspects of the project. From this foundation, we develop a tailored project strategy that ensures alignment with the goals of desirability, feasibility, and viability.

Product Development is the process of identifying problems and opportunities for a group of people, and delivering new value to them, in the form of new, or improved solutions. Value is also created for those developing the solutions and as they become products and services that can be sold to market for a commercial return. To produce this value, resources are co-ordinated to conduct activities within a project in which a Product Development process is applied.

Our Process

Product development must inherently deal with uncertainty

Creating something new involves dealing with many unknowns, assumptions, and a lack of information. There is always an inherent risk of failure.

All projects have finite resources, so IDE’s product development process is designed to reduce uncertainty and risk, quickly build value, and leverage project constraints to our advantage. This approach conserves resources and builds confidence, enabling increased resourcing for the project over time.

IDE Group’s method for Product Development, Discover-Develop-Deliver, takes a structured approach to identifying and assessing risk to prioritise work on areas that mitigate the most significant risks and create the most venture value.

What sets us apart is our holistic perspective, which considers desirability, feasibility, and viability as integral components of commercial success. We ensure that every aspect of our work is informed by these three pillars, guiding our decision-making and strategy throughout the development journey.

Desirability, Feasibility & Viability

IDE Group’s Discover-Develop-Deliver method uses the lenses of Desirability, Feasibility and Viability to identify and assess commercial, technical and project risks both at the outset of a Project, and then at regular intervals throughout the product development journey. This allows for the development of a Project Strategy that guides us in the right direction, implemented with the flexibility to pivot as needed, maximising our potential for a commercially successful outcome.

For any proposed solution to create value it must:

  • Be Desirable: Key stakeholders must need or want the solution’s outcome sufficiently to change their behaviour and be willing to pay for it.

  • Be Feasible: The venture must be capable of creating and delivering the desired solution, ensuring it achieves the promised outcomes.

  • Be Viable: There is a commercially attractive proposition capable of sustaining a business around the solution being brought to market.
