Kong was born in Hong Kong and came to Australia to complete his bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. During his Internship at Thompson Couplings, Kong gained invaluable hands-on experience in the world of demanding industrial applications. Kong then took up a role tutoring and research job at UNSW, but driven by his strong passion for product development, he accepted a full time role at ide. During his spare time, Kong likes making model kits and playing squash.
