About the role

We are seeking a Production Engineer to join our Production Team and support the efficient manufacture of high-quality medical devices. This role is critical in ensuring products are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while continuously improving production outcomes.

In this role, you will use your engineering knowledge and hands-on skills to support IDE’s purpose and contribute to commercially successful outcomes for our clients.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Production Team mission by delivering products that meet quality, cost, and schedule requirements
  • Executing assigned activities to the required level of competence for IDE and its clients
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Quality, R&D, Operations, suppliers, and clients
  • Contributing to the introduction of new products and the ongoing production and supply of saleable devices
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across production and manufacturing processes
  • Performing hands-on operation, setup, and basic troubleshooting of production and manufacturing equipment to support daily production output
  • Conducting in-process and final quality inspections to ensure products meet internal specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations
  • Supporting the assembly, testing, and documentation of various medical devices.

About you

Qualifications and Experience You will hold a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a similar technical discipline.

You will also bring:

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing or contract manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on exposure to manufacturing environments, including production, assembly, or process optimization
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Experience using test equipment, assembly tools, and operating machinery
  • Proficiency with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks) and Excel for data analysis or basic statistical analysis
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills

Technical Knowledge A working understanding of the following is highly desirable:

  • Manufacturing processes, methodologies, and documentation (e.g. ECRs, DMRs, DHRs)
  • Statistical process control and quality systems
  • Medical device regulations, Good Manufacturing Practice, cleanroom protocols, and ISO 13485 or similar Quality Management Systems
  • Key international standards such as ISO 14971 (Risk Management) and ISO 2859 (Sampling for Inspection)
  • Process validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ), CAPA, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement practices
  • Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma fundamentals, or continuous improvement tools such as Kaizen and 5S
