Manufacturing Engineer

The purpose of the Manufacturing Engineer is to ….. Use good judgment to identify problems and potential problems as an opportunity to improve product production.

Manufacturing and Quality

• Follow all setup procedures and work instructions as documented.
• Management and control of production orders.
• Support Quality Control and Capability group/Manufacturing to prepare for audits.
• Support with investigation for non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Complete all quality checks as documented; adjust and re-produce product as needed to provide accurate and damage-free product to the Customer.
• Ensures product assembled meets quality standards.
• Operating in an ISO 13485 environment (or GMP)
• Analytical approach to decision making
• Step up to take ownership of the work, while not being afraid to make decisions.
• Ability to communicate effectively on design issues, with colleagues, customer and suppliers is essential.
• The role will be hands on and highly technical, yet you will need to understand how your work affects the bigger picture.

Skills and Experience

• A degree in Manufacturing Engineering, or similar applicable technical discipline.
• Experience of working with automated processes (pharmaceutical, medical device or food) is highly valued.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and listening skills.
• Proficiency in Mandarin language is highly regarded.
• A continuous improvement mindset with ability to verbalize ideas for process and workflow improvements.
• An understanding of systems engineering, and product integration processes would also be beneficial.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge and familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO 13485 and/or ISO 9001.
• Computer Skills (required): Microsoft Office suite (inc Powerpoint & Project), CAD software (preferably Solidworks and/or Creo/Pro-e), FEA software.
• An understanding of designing for manufacturing processes: injection moulding, sheet metal fabrication, compression moulding, elastomers, machining.
